How a website project runs

The same six steps on every build. You always know what happens next and what it costs.

  1. Discovery call

Thirty minutes on what the site has to do for your business, not just what it should look like.

  2. Written scope and fixed price

Within 5 business days. Pages, features, timeline and one price. No hourly surprises.

  3. Design

Homepage and key templates designed first. You approve before anything is built.

  4. Build on staging

Built on a private copy you can click through. Content moved over, redirects mapped.

  5. Launch

We launch, test forms and tracking, and watch the site for the first week.

  6. Care

Three months of the care plan included, so updates and fixes are covered from day one.

One fixed price, agreed before we start

Most website projects go over budget because the scope was vague and the bill was hourly. We do the opposite. After a discovery call, you get a written scope listing every page, feature and integration, with one price and a launch date.

If something takes us longer than planned, that's our cost. If you ask for something new halfway through, we quote it before any work on it starts.

What moves the price

  • The number of pages and page templates
  • Custom features, integrations and online booking
  • WooCommerce stores, products and checkout
  • How much content we write or move over for you

Why businesses switch to us

Most of our clients have worked with a developer before. These are the things they tell us were missing.

A price that holds

A written scope and one price before work starts. No hourly meter and no surprise invoices.

Delivery on the agreed date

The launch date is in the scope, and you can follow progress on a staging site as we build.

If it doesn't work, you don't pay

Fixes: no fix, no charge. Speed work: the score improves or your money back. Builds: if it takes us longer than planned, that's our cost.

Still here after launch

Three months of care included with every build. Most sites we build, we still look after.

Questions we get asked

What does a WordPress website cost?

Website builds are priced from $8,000. Typical projects: a brochure site $8,000–12,000, a migration plus redesign $9,000–15,000, and a WooCommerce store from $12,000. After a discovery call you get a written scope with one fixed price within 5 business days.

What happens if the project takes longer?

The price doesn't change. It's fixed in writing before we start, so if it takes us longer than planned, that's our cost.

What if I need something new halfway through?

We quote it in writing before any work on it starts. You decide whether to add it now, after launch, or not at all, and nothing is billed without your approval.

When do I pay?

Builds are paid in three milestones: 40% to start, 40% when you approve the design or staging site, and 20% at launch. Fixes are paid upfront by card, and care plans are billed monthly.

What do you need from me to start?

A 30-minute discovery call, access to your current site and hosting if you have them, and your logo and brand files. If we're writing or moving your content, that's listed in the scope; if you're supplying it, the scope gives the dates.

What happens after launch?

Every build includes 3 months of our Care plan: updates, backups, security monitoring and 2 hours of development time a month. After that you can stay on it at $249/month, month to month, or take the site in-house.
